The Vac-A-Way removes dirt, chaff, stems, and unwanted seeds and at the same time separates the cleaned seeds. The machine combines the smooth action of the upper scalping or chaff screen and the controlled vibration of the lower cleaning and grading screens with the suction of an adjustable air stream to give thorough and accurate results for a wide variety of seeds, beans, and grains, and corn. Compactly designed, the Farm Size Vac-A-Way requires little operating or storage space, yet has a capacity of from 20 to 30 bushels per hour when cleaning wheat, oats, soybeans, corn and other similar large grains, and from 2 to 10 bushels per hour when cleaning the smaller type seeds such as clover, alfalfa, timothy, etc.


This machine uses 2 types of screens in the cleaning operation. The top screens or chaff screens are a single layer of wire. The bottom screens or grading screens are a double layer of wire. With this cleaner, I have 5 top and 5 bottom screens. Two of the bottom screens need new wires. Together these 10 screens can create many combinations to clean your seed and grain. This means that it is motor driven and is sold with the motor. The motor is 1/3 hsp and is single phase. You can plug it right in your wall outlet. Attached to the end of the cleaner is a sacking elevator. It is also called a double elevator bagger. The bagger drives directly from the cleaner. Two belts with buckets elevate 2 separate grades of cleaned seed.
There are 5 top screens. Their sizes include 24/64 Round Hole 20/64 Round Hole 13/64 Round Hole 5/64 Round Hole 4/64 Round Hole According to the chart on the side of the mill we have the top and bottom screens to do: Wheat and Rye, Barley and Oats. We also have the sets of screens that will do soybeans, peas, and small sized corn. We have the top screen only for clovers, alfalfa and other small clover type seeds. The bottom screen for the clover is the one that needs repaired. There is an extra bottom screen for beans and corn that is also in need of repair. In all there are 5 excellent top screens, 3 excellent bottom screens and 2 that need new wire. We have taken the time to clean this machine. It is in excellent mechanical condition and ready for use.
