Find Cheap and Best Laminating Machines

A laminating machine provided a variety of laminates to finishing operations. Lamination is simply the process of enveloping a document between two layers of plastic film and sealing its edges in order to provide a level of protection against outside influences that may cause damage.

Photos, posters, letters, certificates and cards are all examples of documents that commonly utilize such a technique, and the items can either be produced professionally or with special laminating products that are used in the home.

You can choose between cold and hot lamination. Cold lamination is easier. Cold lamination will place an adhesive backed clear plastic over your poster using pressure rolls. Hot lamination is a similar process except the rollers are heated. Hot lamination will affect the appearance of an image compared to the same image not laminated. The image will appear deeper, more saturated and the hue will shift slightly towards magenta. The resulting image will be stiff and may not need backing. You can choose between glossy and matte finish.

Pouch laminating machine

Pouch laminating machine is most common laminating machine for home and office.

A pouch laminating machine costs less and is easier to operate than a roll laminator.Pouch-laminating machines come in different shapes and sizes. The most common sizes are usually 4 and 12 laminators. These machines use a lamination pouch that is usually sealed on one side. The inside of the pouch is coated with a heat-activated film that sticks to the product your laminating as it runs through the machine.

Thermal pouches are heat activated. They adhere the film to the document at higher temperatures of between 175 and 270 degrees Fahrenheit. Low melt pouches are available and bond at temperatures between 120 and 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Photographs and other images can be damaged at high temperatures and should be protected with cold lamination or low melt.

Pressure sensitive pouches are used in cold lamination machines. These use pressure to attach the laminate to the document. The pouch has release paper which must be removed to expose the adhesive. The document is then placed between the layers and fed through the machine. Pressure from the rollers helps the laminate adhere to the document.

Barcode pouches have an opaque covering that prevents bar codes from being copied. These are available in a variety of sizes.

Security coating is used with photographs in developing. The laminate is completely bonded with the image and can not be removed without destroying the photograph.
