The current sensor converts an input current signal into an output current signal. The sensor measures both AC and DC and can record measurements anywhere within a circuit. It can also operate from either an internal or external voltage reference, enabling several sensors to be used without offset imbalance. Current Sensor is widely used in applications where the measurement and control must be isolated from the current carrying conductor and the power line.
The current sensor utilizes an ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and a Magneto resistive (MR) magnetic sensor to provide extremely low offset drift with temperature, resulting in stable, repeatable, accurate measurements.
It operates from a +5V unipolar power and has an accessible internal 2.5 voltage reference.
Features and Benefits:
Monolithic Hall IC for high reliability
3 kVRMS isolation voltage between terminals 4/5 and pins 1/2/3
Automotive temperature range available
End-of-line factory-trimmed for gain and offset
Ultra-low power loss: 130 µΩ internal conductor resistance
Ratiometric output from supply voltage
Extremely stable output offset voltage
Small package size, with easy mounting capability
Output proportional to ac and dc currents
Low insertion loss
Single +5 V supply
Lead-free
Current sensors are designed to monitor the presence or absence of AC or DC current and are available in an assortment of standard & custom models with hermetic or gasket seal models designed to withstand severe environmental conditions.
The Current Sensor can be used to measure current at any point in an electronic circuit. Because the incoming current passes through a 1.00 ohm resistor inside the sensor, the voltage across the resistor is equal to the current flowing through the resistor.
