Yarn Winding Machine to be used as winding the spools for Oil filters. The machines are the most productive and high-speed. Winding machines in which the yarn is delivered from bottom to top are the most convenient to use.

Winding is usually considered as a minimal operation because it consists only in transferring yarn from a bobbin to another. Winding is the first, compulsory and most widely used process in the Spinning Mills. It has two main functions, copping and clearing. Copping confers specific properties to the bobbins to adapt them to eventual use like beaming, dyeing, weaving, knitting, and so forth. The clearing function is the most important. It removes yarn imperfections in order to improve yarn shape and to decrease yarn breakage rate.

For a long time, winding was considered to be a simple unimportant process because it merely transfers yarn from one kind of package to another. But winding is considered important now-a-days, because it gives a chance to eliminate imperfections (thick and thin places, neppiness), but it may impart these faults if process is not controlled properly.

The machine was supposed to wind 29,950 meters of yarn (over three times height of Mount Everest) onto a 7ft wide roll at a constant speed of 600 meters/min but, as the roll diameter grew, its speed would increase also. As the yarn is wound onto the roll and its diameter increases the rotational speed is reduced accordingly.
